The architecture, vintage style and desert landscape of Palm Springs has been infused into a new range of customizable rugs by Australian-founded brands Art Hide and Ground Control.

The new collection draws inspiration from founding sister duo Kura Perkins and Bree Hay-Hendry’s love of Palm Springs’ magic, old school charm and desert landscape.

Highlights of Art Hide premium cowhide collection include bold patterns featuring tones of shrimp, cognac and swimming pool jades, alongside muted tones such as dry moss, sand and charcoal. Alongside custom dyeing, the company’s laser burning technique has also been incorporated.

The Ground Control collection features textured jute and wool in raw tones, mixed with earthy and marbled hues. Sleek lines mixed with both organic and geometric shapes are a true nod to the vintage heyday of Palm Springs design.

“My favorite piece from the Ground Control range is the Breezeblocks, with its pattern that evokes this classic architectural feature from Palm Springs,” said Hay-Hendry, creative director. “From the Art Hide collection, I can’t go past the science fiction-inspired Hornet with its pops of bold color and luxe gold detailing.”
