Masquespacio on Channeling Play in Form-Shifting Design
This week’s DMTV Milkshake visitors are the co-owners of the Valencia, Spain-based artistic studio Masquespacio: artistic director Ana Hernández and Christophe Penasse (who, in his phrases, handles “all the pieces else”).
Masquespacio has gained awards, commissions, and press discover worldwide for its playful, energetic tasks in Spain and elsewhere, emblemized by the jaw-dropping interiors of La Sastrería, in Valenica’s Canyamelar-Cabanyal neighborhood. Undulating waves – within the flooring and with ornaments hanging from the ceiling – reference the restaurant’s seaside location and the centrality of seafood, whereas an explosion of dynamic tile within the bar echoes the neighborhood’s constructed atmosphere.
